Lead Developers will be primarily focused on the delivery of software components, leading a team with full stack responsibilities from idea to operating the production system. This role will be involved in the full software life-cycle and have exposure to a broad set of technologies, including web and cloud.
Reporting to the CTO, Lead Developers will work with geographically distributed resources; to deliver a robust and stable platform based on microservice principles. The individual will be expected to work across the organisation to identify and deliver the right technical solution. This is a visible, and varied hands-on role tasked with building and maintaining a best-in-class cloud based architecture function.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis of requirements from internal and external customers
- Leading team members in multiple geographies to ensure successful delivery
- Design and develop new software products and components communicating those designs to your team
- Produce high quality, tested and maintainable code, using the best technologies for the problem at hand
- Drive new standards and approaches across the technology group, bringing other developers and testers with you.
- Investigation and resolution of issues reported by internal and external customers
- Mentor Senior and Junior Developers - some in other geographies

- Minimum 5+ years of business experience in a development position
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or numerical field - (relevant experience in place of a degree will be considered)
- Full software life-cycle experience working on complex products within Agile environments
- High levels of capability in the LAMP stack
- Experience with Laravel 7+ and excellent working knowledge of PHP, specifically object-oriented implementation
- Service Orientated Architecture
- Ability to lead a team, ideally remotely
- TDD/BDD and supporting technologies (unit tests and mocking frameworks)
- Strong working knowledge of MySQL and other database technologies
- Experience with CI/CD
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Must have strong organisational, written, and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, driven, and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of React JS, React Native and TypeScript
- Working knowledge of data streaming technologies (Debezium, Kinesis)
- Experience with instrumentation, enterprise monitoring and reporting tools
- Experience working on Microservice Architecture
