We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.About the roleThe Legal Manager is a senior position within the Society leading and developing a Legal team that is knowledgeable, respected and solution-focused. The role holder will be responsible for providing effective and proportionate legal advice to stakeholders at all levels of the Society. In addition to managing the Legal Advisors, the Legal Manager will be responsible for identifying and prioritising workload, supporting business areas to manage more of their own legal requirements and providing reporting and updates on the performance of the team. The Legal Manager will also act as the most senior in-house legal professional within the Society, advising and assisting the senior management team and providing regular and ad hoc assurance to the Board of Trustees.About youYou are an exceptional lawyer with extensive delivery experience gained either in an in-house or advisory context. You are client-focused, delivery oriented and dedicated to meeting the Society's requirements in a manner that is compliant but proportionate. You understand the legal and regulatory context in which a large charity operates and are passionate about keeping up to date with the latest developments impacting on the sector. You pride yourself on building exceptional relationships at all levels of the organisation, inspiring trust within your team and presenting your advice in an accessible, non-technical manner. You relish the chance to manage a busy team dealing with a wide variety of matters and developing new solutions designed to make the team operate more efficiently and effectively.
