Job description

The Logistics team is pivotal to the success of The Championships. Every piece of food, drink and equipment whether light or heavy needs to be moved safely around the 28-acre site either by hand, forklift, or lorry.

For the right candidate, it is an exciting and challenging opportunity to experience how a major event operates behind the scenes 24 hours a day; it is a physically demanding and rewarding role.

The logistics roles are within the Stores, Linen and Logistics teams. Each department varies, however the key responsibilities & requirements will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lift and carry equipment up to a weight of 15kg
  • Assist in the unloading of deliveries and equipment - check and sign for deliveries
  • Assemble pallets of stock
  • Deliver food, drink, equipment and/or disposables to units
  • Accurately count and replenish items
  • Clearing site and keeping areas tidy
  • Comply with all Company policies including site rules, health and safety, safe working practices, food hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH
  • Ensure working areas are kept clean and tidy
  • To work as part of a team
  • Take instruction from management

Candidates applying for roles at The Championships, 2022 should be aware that you will be considered specifically for the role for which you have applied. You may however, following assessment, be offered an alternative position if one considered more appropriate to your current skills and experience (subject to availability). If your preferred role is not advertised, there are unfortunately no vacant positions available at this time.

Requirements:

  • Over 18 as of 24th June 2022
  • Must be available for the time period 24th June to 10th July (inclusive) as a minimum
  • You must hold current Valid Right to Work in the UK
  • Able to travel to the venue daily for work during the Championships
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance of the venue (typically 1 hour or less)
  • Must be able to supply 2 suitable references, complete all necessary onboarding paperwork, and satisfy accreditation requirements by the required deadlines.
  • Have a methodical and logical work ethic
