Job description

Plan International UK is a global children's charity. We strive to advance children's rights and equality for girls all over the world.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we're tackling the root causes of gender inequality and child poverty, and we are now active in more than 70 countries worldwide.

A rewarding and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced major donor fundraiser to join the Philanthropic Partnerships Team in the Major Partnerships Unit (MPU). As a Major Donor Manager you will play an active role in identifying, cultivating, securing, managing and retaining donors, and soliciting major gifts. Maximising partner engagement, satisfaction and value, you will ensure a high level of customer service and account management, while overseeing the day to day running of the major donor programme. Working closely with colleagues, you will have opportunities to input into strategic decisions.

You will have substantial experience of successfully creating and managing relationships with major donors to secure high value gifts, as well as of researching and prospecting and strategic portfolio management. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build relationships, negotiate, influence and collaborate with stakeholders, and you will have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

It's an exciting time to join Plan International UK as we deliver our ambitious new organisational and fundraising strategy. Over the next year our Major Partnerships Unit will generate £10million of income from companies, trusts, foundations and major donors. If you want to make an impact on Plan's important work, we'd love to receive your application.
