M&E PROJECT MANAGER - CLIENT DIRECT - CENTRAL LONDON- UP TO 65K

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a building services project manager to work direct for a client based at a highly prestigious and recognisable building in London.

The project manager will be working as part of the building facilities and engineering team to ensure the effective project management of engineering refurbishment projects.

This is a critical role in ensuring that the technical projects are true to the brief and are delivered against agreed plans.

Although project management skills are the most crucial element of the job, the project manager must also have the ability to review and criticise technical design to ensure its suitability.

The role will liaise with people from all area and levels of the business as well as external service providers and is the primary point of contact for capital engineering projects and delivery of engineering projects.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

Scope projects.
Develop and apply appropriate specifications.
Prepare programme.
Identity design team.
Identify and assess contractors.
Recommend contractors for appointment.
Chair project meetings.
Liaise with the engineering manager.
Plan delivery to minimise impact on retail operations.
Manage team resources.
Deliver projects on time, quality and budget parameters.
Ensure project compliance.
Manage and control project cost. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

Must have a technical understanding of building services engineering systems and an engineering qualification together with relevant trade experience to back it up.
Must be fully mechanically qualified.
Excellent project management skills.
Previous experience of working on projects involving large scale sub station and chiller replacements.
Previous experience with the commercial, built environment.
Experience of managing engineering projects in a similarly fast-paced environment.
Managing progress reports and people and stakeholder expectations.
Strong communication, influencing and planning skills plus ideally a solid understanding of retail operations.
Experience of working on engineering refurbishment projects and managing complex technical constructions in a live environment.
