The Network Management and Counterparty Risk team is part of Capital Investment Group Services. As a Specialist, you will partner with the investment group, traders, global investment control, legal and trade operations, and will focus on analyzing foreign markets while strategically contributing to the investment process. Your work will strengthen our team's approach to advocate for market change for the benefit of all shareholders.Primary responsibilities/essential functions: Conducts research and analysis of local market mechanics and regulations, characteristics and practices, such as settlement, foreign exchange, custody of assets, capital controls, repatriation and taxes. Identifies, analyzes and communicates business and operational risks associated with foreign market investments and, when possible, develops strategies with other internal teams to minimize or eliminate those risks. Provides quality and appropriate research and analysis on trade execution counterparties, counterparties, derivative clearing organizations, and market utilities. Manages the relationships with key custodian bank Network Management teams to ensure CG receives accurate, timely, and applicable market intelligence. Also, serves as an escalation point to the custodian banks. Internalize market practices obtained from extensive industry contacts to ensure that CG's processes are optimized for the investment group. Provides guidance on complex and ambiguous operational and regulatory issues. Develops solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation; ensures solutions are consistent with organizational and business objectives. Proactively advocates on behalf of shareholders and foreign investors by representing CG to market participants, including regulators and industry bodies. Provides thought leadership by speaking at industry conferences and sitting on industry committees. Partners with information technology group to develop a scalable and robust counterparty research and monitoring system. Seeks creative ways to transact in the market with the objective to protect assets and improve investment flexibility. "I am the person Capital Group is looking for."
