Job description

An international charity fighting blood cancer and providing bone marrow donation centres is hiring for an Operations Manager to provide a business-critical support function to key operations departments within the life-saving charity. This is a brand-new full-time role offering a flexible hybrid work model. The role has arisen due to growth of the organisation leading to the set up of a separate Operations and Logistics function within the Customer Service Department.

As the Operations Manager, you will lead and build the new Operations and Logistics function within the charity, line managing one logistics administrator and managing both daily operations and logistical tasks. This will include international importing, exporting, and processing of swabs and blood samples, ensuring timeliness of delivery, supplier procurement & management, service quality assurance, as well as managing a small operation stockroom and stock ordering. There is also a strategic element to improve processes while meeting quality standards, as well as reporting performance to internal customers.

You will also work closely with the Data Management and Customer Service teams to ensure that all donor data is securely collected, maintained and managed, and that enquiries are responded to in a professional and helpful manner.

You will have the following skills and experience:

* Good understanding of EU import/export procedures, and impacts of Brexit
* Experience in a similar role
* Demonstrable experience in supplier procurement, management & negotiation
* Previous involvement in Operations/Logistics improvement either as a lead or in a supporting role
* Excellent stakeholder management experience
* Forward-thinking approach when working on individual tasks/projects, with the ability to think creatively to solve problems
* Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and bring colleagues with you when involved in projects

If this sounds like the role for you and you would like to lead and build this critical Operations and Logistics function as part of a growing charity dedicated to beating blood cancer, then we would love to hear from you. We are reviewing CVs as and when we are receiving them so if you are keen to apply, then please do so today.
