Partnerships & Development Lead

Do you have experience of identifying and building strategic partnerships within research? Would you like the opportunity to build a world-leading partnerships portfolio at a large funder of research in children's health? If so, then our client has the perfect opportunity for you.

The Partnerships & Development Lead will be responsible for identifying and working with new partners (industry, government and charity) to lead on the development of new opportunities and initiatives, in the discovery and preclinical space. Strategic partnerships are a key area of focus for the charity moving forward, and the postholder will be responsible for identifying, supporting and, where necessary, co-ordinating national and international collaboration on relevant strategic priorities.

About the Team

This exciting role sits within the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department. The team is responsible for ensuring charitable funding supports high quality projects, for monitoring and evaluating funded projects, and providing support to fundraising teams with information on the projects the charity funds.

About You

You will be a creative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial self-starter with proven experience of developing and getting projects off the ground, from concept / ideas to delivery and evaluation. You will also be able to lead and deliver on large projects, with appropriate support, and work closely with important senior external and internal stakeholders.

Specifically, you will have:

• An advanced research degree (PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent work experience
• Experience in leading the planning and delivery of projects within research management, for example, at a grant funder, academic institution, or clinical / commercial environment
• Ability to demonstrate experience of strategic partnership development and management within a research organisation
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships

This role is based in the Central London office (WC1N, opposite Russell Square underground) with the option to work remotely up to three days a week.
