Role Purpose
As a leading training company in the financial services sector, we deliver digital learning experiences to clients across the globe. As we continue to expand and enhance our digital learning capabilities, we are looking for a hands-on Product Owner to bridge the gap between product strategy and development and drive continuous delivery of value to the business through new features and enhancements across a landscape of digital products. You will lead scrum teams, working closely with product management and business teams to create and maintain product backlogs according to business value and strategic objectives.
This role is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and real-world experience distilling business value and goals and roadmaps into refined product backlogs. You will champion, develop, and progress products, ensuring that they cater to the needs of a dynamic and scalable learning ecosystem whilst delighting our users and returning value to our clients.
The role joins an existing product team reporting to the Head of Digital Learning and will work collaboratively with multiple departments, including Development, Content, and the wider Business operational and commercial teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize and manage product feature backlogs and development for the products
- Develop detailed product feature specifications from product management strategies and ensure they're clearly understood by the development teams
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy
- Actively mitigate roadblocks impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals
- Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
- Measure and monitor user behaviours through their interactions with products and content, and feed insights into the product management strategy
- Serve as the product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product
- Produce collateral, training materials and support information to ensure that sales and operational teams are up to date with product capabilities and processes.
- Keep up with agile/scrum best practices and trends
Role Requirements
- You will be an experienced Product Owner with 5-6 years' experience within a global team, ideally within a commercial education provider.
- Experience of working in large multi-faceted software and content development projects.
- Adept at defining product capabilities and breaking these down into backlogs of well-formed user stories.
- In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles
- Understanding of business value around feature/functions
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs
- Strong attention to detail.
- Financial qualification would be advantageous.
