Responsibilities

As a specialist problem solver, solution finder and senior team leader, the Program Managers aim is to ensure the design team and community operate seamlessly and at a high performing level, across the breadth of the delivery process. Building optimal communications amongst teams and partners, and robust operating practices, the Program Manager enables the design teams to focus on their task of design, whilst they work to seek out challenges for the team, to take on and cause correct, creating minimal impact on the teams ability to deliver outstanding design outcomes.

  • Create a roadmap and plan to move the design system efforts to a formalised and scalable product, with the operating practices, resources and approaches in place across the breadth of teams

  • Able to anticipate changing dynamics of competitive landscape and future market trends and adapts work. Also considers and integrates global views based on the community teams when road mapping and planning for the design system delivery
  • Advocate and educate the product's vision across the organization, at a senior level and with practitioner and contributor groups across the enterprise
  • Actively coach and train design system contributors and adopters in the usage and adoption of the enterprise design system tools, standards and components
  • Builds and fosters trusting, productive relationships with all partner teams. Collaborating closely with the breadth of the design system community to ensure challenges are raised and understood, and you are well placed to aid the solution of the challenges presented to the teams
  • Work with the technical teams to ensure the path to delivering the centralised components is cleared and the team achieve the standards defined
  • Serves as a firm wide subject matter expert in the field of design systems, systematic design operations and the build of centralised component and standards
  • Ensures the standards and expectations for adoption and effective usage of the design standards are well documented, and in formats and structures that can be easily shared, understood and managed as components evolve and improve
  • Advocates the design system and the design system adoption, both with execution teams and at a senior leader level. Communicating adoption levels, efficiency and client experience gains, and measures of success of the system

Required Skillset

  • Previously built and maintained design systems at scale for global organisations with highly dispersed design teams
  • A systems-level thinker and highly organized, seeking the best way to solve issues with creative solutions
  • You have an analytical and process driven mindset but you know your way around a creative process and team
  • Hands on experience in the management and delivery of new global digital capabilities
  • Experience in the management and creation of a global design system and the development of standardized componentry from design through to technical implementation
  • Experience of working to deliver new services and processes within a global organization
  • Demonstrated experience on complex digital initiatives
