Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £24,717 - £26,544 per annum

Location: Newham & Hackney, E8 4DG

Our client, Peter Bedford Housing Association, works in Hackney, Islington and Newham alongside people who have faced long-term social exclusion through homelessness, mental health problems, drug and alcohol misuse, offending, learning difficulties or multiple needs.

The Role:

Developing their services into Newham funded by the Greater London Authority, this role will support 12 former rough sleepers to live in their own flats across the borough. Supported by your line manager, you will work with the tenants to make a support plan which connects them with community organisations, builds independent living skills and helps them to become hopeful about the future.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with twelve former rough sleepers, housed across Newham in self-contained flats
Support these individuals in developing independent living skills
Support tenants in aiming to move onto independent housing within three years
Work in a psychologically informed environment, using Solution Focused Brief Therapy intervention
To comply with safeguarding procedures and complete risk assessments for tenants.

Person Specification:

A strengths-based approach, empathic, good initiative and resourcefulness
Outcome orientated
Organised, able to prioritise and plan
To have worked (paid or voluntary) with at least one of the following groups of people:

people who have mental ill health
people who have learning difficulties
people who have been homeless
people who have alcohol-related problems.

Good computer literacy, specifically Windows applications, emails and internet use.
