Job description

Brook is an ambitious and dynamic charity that is passionate about improving the lives of young people. Last year we supported 1.4 million under 25s to manage their sexual health and wellbeing and we know our work is needed more than ever.

About the role
By providing targeted support to the People & OD team, regarding recruitment of employees, volunteers, apprentices and bank workers, this role will support Brook's People and OD function in providing outstanding support across the organisation, support strategies to invest in the development of Brook's staff, and coordinate central recruitment processes ensuring consistency and quality across Brook's services and offices.

Key areas for focus will be:

Assist with the implementation of the department's annual delivery plan to support the workforce development strategy, based on current and future business needs;
Competently manage the centralised recruitment function at Brook, ensuring Brook's key brand messages are promoted throughout the recruitment and selection process and that there is standardisation in our approach through materials, support and training to all recruiting managers;
Follow existing guidance and processes to ensure all external and internal advertisements are accurately placed in a timely manner;
Undertake regular reviews of advertising methods and strategies to ensure Brook is attracting an excellent and diverse calibre of applicants, while also ensuring value for money;
Manage and update the induction/on-boarding process, including the issuing of staff badges, and make suggestions for improvements where applicable;
Be responsible for updating the recruitment sections of the intranet and all recruitment and induction policies and procedures;
Monitor and review available statistics and data to improve recruitment processes and results by setting recruitment goals and targets;
Ensure job descriptions are fit for purpose and standardised where possible;
Support with Brook's interview, selection and appointment procedures to ensure they are the best they can be;
Manage the processing of Brook's reference checks and ensure they continue to be robust and fit for purpose;
Manage the recording of information held on Brook's bank workers;
Manage the centralised application process for recruiting volunteers and update the volunteering policies and procedures;
Assist with the plan to develop and increase volunteers at Brook;
Help develop the plan to introduce more apprentices at Brook;
Competently navigate the HR system, supporting staff and ensuring they can access and manage their accounts and data;
Provide day to day administrative support to the People & OD function as required.

In return, Brook can offer you a supportive, structured working environment with clear objectives to meet but with the freedom to operate independently and think creatively. We pride ourselves on being a hardworking but fun team.
