Sales Ledger Assistant - perm, earning between \u00A325\/27000

You will be working for a fantastic and worthwhile organisation based in Stanmore, who are mainly situated within the Public Sector.

Your new role
You will be working as a Sales Ledger Assistant. Your main responsibilities include:

* To accurately and promptly allocate incoming receipts and carry out banking when required
* Work with colleagues across the organisation to gather sales and income due, information and ensure that all invoices are raised and sent promptly
* To establish and maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external users and departments.
* To provide cover for short-term employee absence, as instructed by the Finance Support Manager.
* To establish and maintain an accurate and easily accessible filing system.
* To establish and maintain effective credit control and manage bursary applications.
* To assist with any other tasks within the finance Department as required.
* To regularly meet with colleagues to resolve issues and obtain explanations and ensure that appropriate action is taken in all cases.
* To ensure debts are being actively chased and prepare debt reports.
* To meet with Team Leaders and Housing Management Executive to ensure debts recovery policies are being followed and prepare reports.
* To ensure that the ledgers are reconciled with the control accounts and monthly reports generated and distributed as required.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed within this role, it would be beneficial but not essential for you to:

* Have recent experience of sales ledger, credit control within a medium to large organisation
* Working knowledge of an accounts package
* Bookkeeping knowledge
* Have experience using either Open Accounts or Oracle Netsuite
* Analytical skills
* Personable and confident in engaging with other managers
* Excellent communication skills
* Confident user of Excel and Word
