Our Sales team in EMEA is a driven and collegiate team of 20 New Business Hunters and Account managers and we work closely with the 300+ researchers, 30+ product management team and 40+ Consultants and customer engagement colleagues in ECR to add value to our customers' strategic planning processes.

Duties and Responsibilities - "Your Role"

You will be a key member of the IHS Markit ECR Sales team in EMEA. Reporting into the Head of EMEA Account Management, you will be responsible for driving retention in an existing client based across the Middle East and Africa across corporate sectors, financial services and government, as well as identify opportunity for growth for upsell or cross-sells.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Meeting or exceeding monthly retention goals, negotiating renewals and orchestrating client engagement
  • Employing a solution-based sales methodology to best align Economics & Country Risk's capabilities with the customer's need
  • Providing timely and accurate insight to your pipeline leading to accurate forecasts
  • Representing and promoting the company and business line to senior executives both internally and externally
  • Developing a strong understanding of the value proposition for our offerings as it relates to the Middle East and African end market


Job Requirements - "About You"

You are a results-driven, customer-focused sales professional who has a strong background in the economic and country risk sectors, an excellent negotiator and passion to meet and exceed customer's expectations.

Key Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 8 years of sales experience. Proven track record of selling high-value complex solutions involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of selling into the Middle East and Africa with a strong awareness of local business cultures in particular in the UAE, KSA and South Africa
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications to the strategic planning persona
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Experience selling information services (research, data, consulting)
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% in order to conduct face to face meetings or attend industry conferences (restrictions allowing)
  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • Desired: ability to speak additional languages with a preference for Arabic or French
