Job description
Our client provides advice to governments and businesses around the world to support the global transition to a low carbon economy.
Their Offshore Wind team works with governments and large corporate clients internationally to help bring offshore wind to market quicker, cheaper and at a greater scale.
They provide expert insight on a wide range of offshore wind areas including policy advice, market and supply chain analysis, cost analysis and modelling, technology commercialisation, and energy system modelling for both fixed and floating projects.
They are currently seeking to hire an enthusiastic and outgoing business development professional to help grow their offshore wind business activities across their global value proposition.

Responsibilities
Support the development of business development strategies and propositions.
Coordinate and manage the application of business development strategies across the Offshore Wind Team and monitor and review progress.
Work closely with global offshore wind market leads, support the delivery of a flow of prospects and opportunities across the globe to help achieve agreed revenue targets for the organisation.
Lead on managing global stakeholder and customer engagement to ensure business development strategies are in line with global offshore wind needs.
Work with the team to expand value proposition through understanding the needs of the global offshore wind industry.
Act as centralised coordinator for all market propositions.
Coordinate the response to solicited open and closed tenders that fit within their global value proposition to ensure the highest standards in meeting customer needs.
Work with Marketing Team to ensure appropriate integrated sales, marketing & PR activities (e.g., events, releases and campaigns), to be targeted for lead generation.
Organise knowledge management and knowledge transfer within the team to improve business development practice.
Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the company and the work of the Offshore Wind Team.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Demonstrable track record of sales delivery and growth.
Experience selling at key global and national account level.
Degree educated, preferably in subject linked to business development or commercial management backed up with relevant experience.
Desirable
Second Language.
Experience of the infrastructure development sector (Offshore wind, other energy sectors, transport, utilities).
Competencies
A highly capable professional looking to develop new business and retain existing business.
Comfortable meeting customers, engaging both face-to-face and on the phone, and willing to take responsibility for leading business development with large, multi-national customers.
Adept at identifying the selling points in a service, articulating these, and capable of persuading a reticent customer to be engaged.
Engaging and credible at both high and low levels in client organisations.
Entrepreneurial, tenacious, and keen to grasp new opportunity.
A strong and personable team player who is also capable and comfortable as a self-starter.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships and influence decision-making, tailoring approach depending on the seniority level of business contacts.
Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
Enthusiasm for the subject of 'advancing the global offshore wind sector'.
Fluent spoken and written English (other languages are an advantage).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Confidence in working with senior leadership.
Skills in both strategic and tactical proposal development and presentation.
Experience of working with a sizable number of customers at different stages of commitment concurrently.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment, and to work on multiple client bids across a given time period.
Ability to think and work independently, taking the initiative and 'ownership' of tasks, having strong organisational and time management skills.
Proven ability to use MS Excel for complex problem solving and analysis.
Experience in using MS PowerPoint and Word for communication and proposal writing.
