The team is a formidable force for QBE, comprising over five hundred people spread across multiple locations within UK and the rest of Europe, and reflecting the diversity and strength of the region. Handling over 200,000 claims a year, QBE has built a reputation for excellence within the market and is widely recognised for its technical expertiseYou will be responsible to efficiently handle a dedicated caseload of claims including all aspects of professional and financial lines complex claims, with emphasis on financial institutions and management liability claims but specifically D&O Claims . Being qualified in US law would be an advantage, but not essential.Your Responsibilities For This Role May Include, But Are Not Limited ToAccurately triaging and managing claim files through to settlement, prioritising new and existing work appropriatelyEnthusiastically seeking to establish liability and indemnity on all claimsDelivering a world class service to customersHandling all claims competently to ensure that they are promptly and adequately reserved and settled as economically and fairly as possibleProducing ad-hoc claims reports for stakeholders as requiredMaintaining relationships with stakeholdersBeing part of a market-leading claims team with a focus on quality customer serviceDevelop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of legal & regulatory mattersYou Will Need To Be Able To Demonstrate The Following Qualities And AbilitiesEffective communication skills, written and verbalAn in-depth experience of handling complex financial lines claims in the London subscription marketConfidence in presenting to clients and brokersExperience in multiple jurisdictionsExperience in handling US litigated claims, including class actions, preferredDeveloped investigation and negotiation skillsAbility to travel for customer and key stakeholder meetingsRelationship management skillsAbility to work on own initiativeEffective workload organisation skills, with the ability to work under pressureComfortable with manipulating data and producing reports with ability to use MS Office applications and ECFA strong team playerAt QBE, we view our people as our most precious asset.
