Senior Consultant/Director Tax Real Estate Corporate Finance - UK Tax About Tax Advisory: We provide business taxes advisory services to FTSE 100, international funds and major corporations across a broad suite of tax services and technical specialists. We are an independent expert led tax practice with definitive expertise across many areas of tax and a commercial approach to advising our clients. About the Role: This role represents an exciting opportunity to join a growing team focussing on real estate transactions and advisory work. Typical projects include tax and financial due diligence, advising on transaction documentation (including SPAs) tax structuring for acquisitions, ongoing advisory projects, disposals and the formation of funds and joint ventures. The team predominantly advises on UK projects, but also manages an increasing number of European transactions. You will gain significant hands-on commercial exposure in this role, working on transactions and client business plans, working closely with the client deal and finance teams, and seeing projects from start to finish, as well as ongoing tax advisory work throughout the life cycle of an investment. The FTI real estate team provides a holistic client offering, and frequently acts as an extension of the client transaction team. As such there will also be opportunities to work closely with clients, and gain an understanding of their business plan, commercial goals, and decision-making process. As our team is senior led, there is also the opportunity of working directly with senior members of the team, to gain wide-ranging skills and experience and develop your career in a progressive and supportive team. What You'll Do Support on tax due diligence on corporate real estate acquisitions, including compiling information requests, reviewing documents and drafting reports, and managing the input of other specialists (e.g. VAT, capital allowances, stamp taxes, employment taxes/CIS) Assisting with tax structuring work for acquisitions, refinancing, reorganisations, and disposals, including researching technical points, managing the input of other specialists and drafting practical, robustly supported advice and reports Assisting clients on non-tax specific workstreams such as funds flows, financial due diligence and SPA negotiation Actively keeping up to date on specialist technical matters and contributing to thought leadership material as required Supporting the tax compliance and reporting team for UK companies and non-resident landlords Performing transfer pricing analysis in relation to related party debt financing Advising both landlords and occupiers on all aspects of real estate lease transactions, from initial incentives to renewal, dilapidations, and surrender Proactively managing risk and engagement administration Delegating work to and managing the junior members of the tax team Taking ownership of projects in relation to WIP management and billing Basic Qualifications / Qualifications & Experience Experience in providing real estate tax (or M&A) advisory services on a UK and possibly also an international level preferably from a large tax consultancy firm A good tax technical knowledge An ability to communicate (verbal and written) complex technical issues in a straightforward and practical way to tax and non-tax specialists Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail Outgoing and personable and able to integrate with a team and interact with colleagues of all grades Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload under pressure Proven ability to take ownership of projects and come to decisions independently whilst being supported by the senior team Demonstrable skills at building and maintaining relationships with colleagues within and outside tax teams Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Bachelor's Degree (2.1) or equivalent ACA, CTA or equivalent qualified #LI-LD1 Our Benefits Apart from the well-structured career path and excellent team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits.
