Job description

An Academy Trust in South London is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior IT Technician to join their IT Network Services Team on a full time, permanent basis to commence immediately.

You will work alongside a team of 4 in planning, providing and ensuring effective and efficient ICT support across three schools. As part of this role you will also be responsible for the professional development of two apprentice ICT Technicians within the team, providing exceptional leadership, managing their day-to-day workload and setting and measuring KPIs.

You will be responsible for:

• Project management including upgrading current network services
• Supporting staff and students with email, file/print servers, database access, wifi and mobile usage
• Improving current systems and cloud usage
• Carrying out maintenance on hardware
• Be responsible for the security of all ICT equipment
• Conduct regular reviews of the ICT usage and equipment across the Trust
• Support the Network Manager with supervision of staff

The successful candidate will have:

• exceptional knowledge of and experience of IT systems and understand the importance of data security and confidentiality
• a degree in computer science or have completed a Level 3 apprenticeship program in an IT related topic
• the ability to use own initiative and demonstrate energy, commitment and enthusiasm
• the ability to identify and complete work independently, including taking responsibility
• All applicants should be Microsoft office literate and have an excellent command of written English and grammar.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills and be confident line managing staff

The successful candidate will be based at a secondary school in Sutton, with regular scheduled visits to two other local schools within the Trust. All schools are easily accessible by public transport.
