We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Employment Legal Team based in Osterley. This is a diverse role in which you will provide complete support on employment legal matters to Sky's UK&I workforce base of over 30,000 people. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team and take the lead on intriguing projects covering change programmes, M&A activity and more!

What you'll do:
  • Advise stakeholders on legal risks, potential impacts and propose business focused solutions;
  • Support the Legal Counsel and Paralegal in carrying out tribunal litigation - this is a largely an in-house model save for advocacy
  • Build effective relationships with your HR and legal colleagues and the wider Sky businesses (including Sky Group and Comcast/NBCU) to ensure you are a trusted legal partner who offers the right advice at the right time.
  • Report progress to relevant stakeholders and the legal team.
  • Support employment related projects such as change programmes (both TUPE and redundancy) and M & A activities.
  • Offer policy and strategic advice
  • Proactively advise on changes to the law and the impact this may have on Sky's business
  • Offer training and coaching to junior members of the team
  • Provide support to the HR team on all employment matters including complex grievances and disciplinary issues and contracts.
What you'll bring:
  • Qualified UK lawyer or lawyer from a jurisdiction based on UK law
  • Employment law experience within a law firm or equivalent in-house [J1]
  • Experience working within a large complex organisation at fast-pace
  • Ability to identify and summarise key issues, risks and impact of risks for of all levels including senior colleagues
  • Strong communication skills
  • A collaborative and pragmatic standout colleague
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Preferably will have experience in employment matters in Europe.
