SENIOR MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (RETAIL)
Salary: £44,000 - £48,000 per annum + benefits
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Contract length: Permanent
Location: Stratford with high-flex

Why we need you
We're looking for a qualified Senior Management Accountant to join our exciting new team and someone who wants to be a part of change as we strive to make a real difference in our organisation. In this role, you will own and deliver accurate and timely management accounts for CRUK specific business areas which are looking after our 600 shops so experience in the Retail or Wholesale sector is essential to hit the ground running. You will also support and coordinate the workload of the Management Accounting team to ensure effective delivery of month end close. As we are building our new team you will be instrumental in identifying efficiencies and improvements and driving forward our ambition to streamline the finance processes at CRUK. Therefore, successful candidates should be able to present relevant experience in process change management. You'll play a key role in building the management accounting centre of excellence while rotating around business areas periodically to improve your knowledge and experience.
You'll have excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to thrive in a matrix environment. Ideally, you'll also have a passion for our cause.
What will I be doing?

Being a key finance point of contact for the Retail business area, ensuring teams are educated on financial processes and are confident in budgetary control
Owning and delivering timely, high quality and accurate management accounts for retail business area and supporting with the smooth delivery of the annual accounts and audit
Reviewing existing management information to find efficiencies and improvements
Working with multiple stakeholders to identify and process transactions needed to ensure accounts are complete and correct
Taking ownership for identifying and driving improvements in CRUK's management accounting processes to enable maximum efficiencies in our ways of working
Supporting the financial planning process by building budgeting and forecasting tools and templates and supporting the process
Facilitating and supporting budget holders to complete headcount budgets.

Strong relationship and influencing skills, with the confidence to work with Directors and senior stakeholders
Significant management accounting experience
The ability to clearly present and explain financial information
Experience of helping decision makers understand the impact of their decisions
An innovative mindset with experience of working in a continuous improvement environment
Strong problem-solving skills
You will be a qualified accountant (or by experience) with post-qualification experience.
