Job type: fulltime
Job industry: Sales & Marketing
Job description
Join our Energy, Resources and Sustainability team in London as a Senior Manager within the Specialised and Asset Finance (SAF) Division of the Commodities and Global Markets Group.
Our Energy, Resources and Sustainability team focuses on providing clients with tailored financing solutions which enable them to efficiently run and grow their businesses. Our expertise encompasses energy assets (including smart meters, batteries and renewable generation), mobility solutions (including EVs, charging infrastructure and scaleable hydrogen technologies) and sustainable waste solutions (including full spectrum of waste streams from organics and wastewater, through to plastics and e-waste).
This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a fast-growing area within Specialised Asset Finance and contribute to the energy transition and decarbonisation of transport in EMEA. The energy, mobility and sustainability teams are relatively newly established but are a key focus of our business development in the next few years. This gives considerable scope for you to develop your career and achieve personal growth as the businesses grow while also contributing to the sustainability goals that are central to much of what Macquarie now does.
Whilst the primary focus is on a wide range of structured finance products, including term loans, project finance, off balance sheet structures and energy supply financing, the business can invest across the capital structure. Where the opportunity arises we will invest equity to support growing businesses, supported by our debt capacity. Macquarie differentiates itself through the deep market understanding in its relevant sectors that allows us to take risk positions and offer innovative structures.
Joining as a Senior Manager you would be part of the existing energy team with responsibility to originate new structured finance transactions and oversee the execution of a wide range of opportunities. The energy team is currently focused on distributed energy (conventional and renewable), grid scale flexible energy solutions, including batteries and conventional thermal, and energy efficiency measures. We are currently launching a major rooftop solar business with a partner and have developed an innovative battery financing product.
Due to significant recent successes and identified opportunities for growth we need an additional team member to develop these areas of the business. The role entails the full transaction process from deal origination through negotiation to execution; you would work on this in conjunction with the Managing Director leading the team and supported by the Structuring and Execution team.
To be successful for this role, you will have 7+ years of prior relevant experience in credit, lending or equity investing, ideally with a structured asset finance or project finance focus. You will have a high degree of knowledge of the energy market and the impact of the energy transition; ideally you will also have an existing network of contacts within the energy sector. Strong strategic and commercial outlook is essential along with financial analysis skills, preferably developed within a banking, consulting or principal investing environment.
Working in our team requires entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
If this sounds exciting, please apply now.
