Job description

Site Reliability Engineer | £60,000 - £80,000 | AWS, Python, Kubernetes, Terraform

An online marketplace for independent brands, with shops in both London and the US, is searching for their first Site Reliability Engineer to join their impressive team. The company is experiencing hyper-growth and despite the pandemic, their revenue has increased an impressive 80% in the last year (over £20m!). We've been working with them for the last 12 months and have hired members of their founding Engineering team.

They are shaping the future of Retail for the better, by working with independent designers, who manufacture sustainably and ethically, from South America, Scandinavia, Africa and the Middle East.

The Role:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be heavily involved in Infrastructure design, modernisation, reliability and emergency planning, as well as automation of DevOps processes with support from the Engineering Leads. Not only will you be working with a high degree of autonomy, but you will be fundamental in helping support the growth of the business.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, able to communicate with both Engineer's and Business Stakeholders, as well as having a strong interest in automation.

They will also have:

  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps engineer managing complex systems, preferably with experience of managing applications written in Python
  • Experience with AWS, Cloudflare or Cloudinary
  • Experience transitioning to containerised environments
  • Have experience with containerised development and deployment strategies, preferably using Kubernetes for orchestration.
  • Experience with CI tools for automated testing and deployment (we use Gitlab)
  • Experience implementing immutable infrastructure using modern infrastructure as code frameworks (eg Serverless, Terraform, etc).

The Office:

The Office is based in the trendy part of Kings Cross (right besides Google and Facebook!). They also have a flexible remote working policy, so you'll only be required to come into the Office once or twice a week.

If you're interested, please apply!

Burns Sheehan Ltd will consider applications based only on skills and ability and will not discriminate on any grounds.
