About Us:

Empowered to make a difference ̶ to individuals and wider service delivery

In Kensington and Chelsea, we support people's independence and wellbeing, and work hard to enable them to live in the community with dignity, choice and control. Like many inner city councils, we do face challenges, many of which have become particularly acute during the pandemic. We are home to some of the country's most deprived wards and are still rebuilding trust and confidence following the Grenfell tragedy. But we remain committed to providing quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

We believe that the voices of the people who use our services should help shape our priorities. That's why we've always built our plans for the future of Adult Social Care in collaboration with our communities ̶ as well as with our own teams. We're on the look-out for fresh, new professional perspectives to help us rethink the way we deliver services. Our standards are high, and we always ensure our people have the time and resources to care.

The Role:

In a fast-changing world, it's not enough to deliver services; we must also progress them. That's why we look for social workers who embrace change, in particular in finding ways to respond to referrals more quickly and to put vulnerable adults and their families in touch with the right people. You'll be empowered to contribute to service development and to deliver services with compassion and responsibility, all in a professional environment that values two-way communication.

You'll join us at a time of change as we continue to integrate health and social services in a tri-borough agreement with Westminster City Council and Hammersmith & Fulham. We're also introducing systemic practice into Adult Social Care after a successful roll-out in Children's Services. We'll help you take advantage of these changes by offering excellent support for ongoing professional development.

About You:

Resilient, solution-focused and ready to learn and innovate, you're passionate about social work and protecting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. A qualified and registered Social Worker, you'll have experience of working with adults from diverse backgrounds within a health and social care setting. This should include experience of writing strength-based assessments and personalised support plans. Strong knowledge of safeguarding is essential. You'll also need to be flexible, IT literate and keen to progress.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Important information: This vacancy requires postholders to have had a full course of an MHRA approved COVID-19 vaccine or demonstrate they are medically exempt from the statutory requirement. We will request that applicants provide evidence of their vaccination status or a medical exemption during interview and pre-employment checks.

Please apply online and ensure that you specify how to meet the person specification, organisational values and job description in your personal statement. CV's will not be considered for this application.
