Software Engineer - London, Gloucestershire or Suffolk - Permanent - Up to £68,000 per annum - DV Cleared or willing to undergo
Our client is looking for creative and ambitious Software Engineers to join their team. Your experience will cover different technologies within an agile environment.
You will be asked to support the team in scrum/agile development, software design, requirements analysis, conducting research & development on new software technologies.
The Key Responsibilities of a Software Engineer:
Support the team in:
- Scrum/Agile Development
- Software Design
- Requirements Analysis
- Conducting Research
- Development On New Software Technologies
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Software Engineer, however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Experience with Scripting and coding in different languages
- Experience with mobile platform development
- Worked on Windows, Linux or MacOSx
- Experience with web technologies (eg, Django, Node.js, SpringMVC, ASP.NET, RabbitMQ, MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server, REST/SOAP API design)
- Worked with big data tools (eg Apache Hadoop stack technologies, Pig, Hive)
- Experience working with automation technologies to test, build, analyse and deploy
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Compiled and scripted languages; eg, C, C++ (STL, multi-threaded/Real Time), C#, Objective-C, Java/JEE, Python, Javascript, PHP, Bash, PowerShell
- Mobile platform development; eg, Android, iOS, ARM
- Low-level desktop/server platform development for Windows, Linux and/or Mac OSX
- Enterprise-level web technologies; eg, Django, Node.js, SpringMVC, ASP.NET, RabbitMQ, MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server, REST/SOAP API design
- Automation technologies for building, testing, analysis and deployment; eg, Bamboo, CodeSonar, Robot Framework, Selenium, vSphere, Docker, Puppet, Salt
- Real Time, big-data processing; eg Apache Hadoop stack technologies, Pig, Hive
- Vulnerability research with reverse engineering, penetration testing and ethical hacking
- Comprehensive knowledge of operating system security and associated network/platform design, hardening and deployment
- Understanding of network transport protocols (eg, TCP/IP), application protocols (eg, HTTP, SSL/TLS), Firewall theory and packet analysis
- Software life cycle, issue management and version control technologies and practices; eg, Git (using Git Flow), Stash/Bitbucket, Jira, Scrum/Kanban
- Cyber-security and certification such as such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, Security+, Network+, Linux+, MCSE, CCNA or SSCP
- Full engineering life cycle and Systems Engineering (IVV&T) practices from requirements/user story capture and decomposition through to integration, acceptance and customer sign off
