Job description
The role will report to the Director, Solutions and Design, UK Change Management.
Primarily focused on modernization of SVBs Online Banking offering, allowing clients to manage and transact across SVBs broad range of products, with client self-service at the heart of its delivery.
As a Solutions and Design manager you will be responsible for providing design thinking and expert knowledge in support of the most ambitious UK and global digital roadmaps and transformation projects, which underpin SVBs corporate strategy.
You will support the development of optimal business solutions that deliver client centric outcomes, mitigate challenges aligned to operational scalability and drive efficiency across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Provide digital platform based subject matter expertise to both strategic and operational effectiveness deliverables and assume lead and support subject matter expert (SME) roles on both larger enterprise and local projects. Through this, design solutions and implement change into the business including business readiness activity
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders in their SME area to keep current on BAU practices and build relationships more broadly across the business to act as an advocate of change management as well as supporting the consistency of messaging across the business
- Act as support to the business when needed to assess change opportunities
- Challenge ongoing design of both strategic and operational changes to align to strategic objectives, resolve roadblocks and design issues and influence changes in thinking/approach where required
- Have a global mindset ensuring both local and global requirements are factored into design
Skills and Requirements
- Online banking digital platform expertise with multi-year experience, including:
- Experience in collaborative design for a commercial bank digital channel solution, across platforms/devices e.g. desktop, mobile, API and file-based channels
- Understand industry sector-specific technology offerings and their applicability to issues and stakeholders across the value and supply chain
- Deep knowledge of commercial banking products and services
- Recognising and interpreting target operating model (TOM) impacts aligned to digital delivery
- Experience of project management/delivery especially in Agile methodologies e.g.
- Working collaboratively with product owners
- Awareness and exposure to refinement refine and prioritizing of product backlogs in a fast-moving environment
- Proficiency/exposure to writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria
- Understanding bank operations and IT systems/architecture
- Proactively draw upon own network of contacts and build new ones both internally and externally
- In style, you will be consultative versus directive and be able to weigh options and alternatives effectively, yet equally capable of being decisive
- Define and shape solutions which contribute, directly or as part of a wider offering, to delivering value to the client and business
- Operate comfortably with ambiguity and work effectively under pressure and in different working environments
- Able to synthesize complex information and translate into actionable recommendations and solutions
- Good working knowledge and prior application of structured problem-solving techniques and analysis models
- Critically analyses business problems, draw appropriate conclusions and present potential solutions
- You must have a sense of urgency and be able to think beyond the initial set of facts or issues, whilst having a strong orientation for probing for less obvious solutions
