About the charity

We are going through an exciting period of change and growth, having recently launched an ambitious strategic plan, with goals including having a positive impact on the lives of more people experiencing homelessness than ever before.

About the role

With great ambition comes the need for great people, and we're looking for someone fantastic to be part of a new and growing team providing an effective, high-quality support service to our residents in our newest service in Canning Town called "Hope Street" due to launch in early 2022.

This role is responsible for the service delivery of an effective, high-quality, person-centered support service to residents with a range of medium to high needs. They will be the principal providers of support to residents in service and will also work alongside Assistant Support Workers, to promote resident engagement through the development of positive relationships with our residents and contributing towards the promotion of a fulfilling, safe and inclusive environment.

Please note that this role is permanent, on a full-time basis working occassional evenings and weekends. The minimum starting salary is £26,000 per annum.

About you To be successful in this role you will need to have a demonstrable level of experience and understanding of the range of approaches appropriate to working with challenging behaviour including current drug /or alcohol use, antisocial behaviour, offending, substance misuse, and complex needs. You will also need good IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office packages) and an awareness of issues facing single people that experience homelessness or rough sleeping. A proven track record working within the local authority, volunteering, independent, charity, or a social housing association is also a real advantage.

It would be an advantage if you had a full current driving license and a successful track record in developing services in response to changing needs and demands.

Key skills:

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels, maintaining professional boundaries
Qualifications relevant to supporting vulnerable adults
Ability to interpret and communicate the meaning of legislation, policy, guidance, research, and information on best practice
Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting supported housing and vulnerable customer groups

This position does require an ability and willingness to work shifts including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
