Job description

ActionAid UK is a member of the ActionAid Federation, an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty.

As part of the ActionAid Federation, we work with women and girls, our partners, and dedicated staff in 43 countries to end violence and fight poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

As Supporter Contact Officer you will be a first point of contact for existing and potential supporters whether that's by phone, email or social media. The Supporter Contact Team ensures existing and potential supporters receive great customer service, they build long-lasting relationships, and inspire supporters to generate income that will change the lives of some of the world's poorest people.

Quick to build a rapport, you will manage enquiries, work with supporters to increase their financial and time commitments as well as help retain their support when they are considering cancelling. You will also be involved in processing payments, resolving issues, maintaining records, and building good working relationships with other Action Aid teams in the UK and overseas.

It is essential that you have experience of providing excellent customer care as well having strong written and verbal communication, administration and coordination skills in the charity sector. In addition, you must be good with databases, work well as part of a team and be comfortable meeting KPIs and deadlines. Happy in a busy environment you will be able to work on your own initiative, have an eye for detail and strong IT skills. Some fundraising experience would be an advantage.

We offer fantastic career opportunities for those who want to be part of an organisation that is making a real difference to the lives of over 15 million people in 45 countries.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working. We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.

Please note this is a full time role on a fixed term contract until August 2022.
