Job description
Seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Systems Administrator to join the team to manage and administer all the components that make up our Standard Operating Environment (SOE) at a series a funded start-up in the car finance/payments sector. As a digital business, security and availability is at the core of what we do and you will responsible for ensuring our systems (hardware/software) and functions are resilient and secure.
Key responsibilities:
build and be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of software systems, network Servers, and cloud infrastructure
troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritising problems, and assessing impact of issues
provide documentation and technical specifications to the tech team for planning and implementing infrastructure improvements
perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise
replace and upgrading defective or outdated components when necessary
monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely
assist with day-to-day use of the system where required
manage and administer Office365

What we are looking for in you:
you will have a proven track record of success as a Systems Administrator with experience of Linux, Windows and AWS (Amazon Web Services) all essential
you'll be able to demonstrate your experience of working with databases, owning the network administration and/or system administration of a mid-sized tech estate
you'll have a good track record of implementing and owning systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
we will expect you to have experience with Scripting and automation tools
you will have the ability to understand and articulate technical concepts and derive solutions
knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
This opportunity can be based in either London (Hammersmith) or Sheffield, with remote working possible for up to 4 days a week. A competitive package is available for the right candidate.
