Job description

Job purpose:
To lead the integrated development and progressive internal and external approval of the Ship build Systems Integration Strategy to help de-risk and enable the physical and functional outcomes for the Team Resolute Consortia and the H&W Group. To lead the development of a progressive verification and validation matrix, including an integration test, evaluation and acceptance framework as a critical success factor to deliver a highly efficient build, unit assembly, test, commissioning, and progressive acceptance methodology for all 3 new build platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* To be the lead H&W Group Systems Integration Point of Contact (PoC) for the new build Capital Project to enable the most effective systems integration practices and outcomes required in the competitive procurement phases (meaning; the progressive verification, validation, vertical and horizontal interfaces of all systems and equipment data);
* To liaise closely within the H&W Group (Belfast and Appledore Shipyards/ Delivery Centres) to ensure that all design to production to build interfaces are fully evaluated, to ensure that systems and equipment verification and validation interfaces and interdependencies are fully captured;
* To facilitate and support all internal H&W Group critical design and production readiness reviews to ensure all engineering, technical and design functions are integrated for the Capital Project;
* To liaise closely with the Bid Team and Technical Authority Lead and our Team Resolute Design Consortia Partner BMT to determine the Systems Integration lines of responsibility for the Whole Ship Approving Authority vs Whole Ship Technical Authority + Systems/Equipment Approval Authority vs Systems/Equipment Technical Authority;
Qualifications/Skills:
* Highly experienced and demonstrable systems engineering, systems integration, Requirements Management (DOORS) and VVRM (Verification and Validation Requirements Matrices)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Domain knowledge in at least 2 of the following technologies - Surveillance Radar, Electro-optics (CCTV and thermal Imaging), Command and Control System Software, ICT and Networked systems
* Demonstrable competence in leading the development and implementation of complex technical solutions, making engineering decisions, mitigating technical risk, and ensuring best practise is shared.
* Demonstrable understanding of product safety with experience in conducting / supporting safety reviews and hazard identification and management
