Job description

AustralianSuper is the largest superannuation (pension) fund in Australia and one of the 25 largest pension funds globally. We invest the retirement savings of our 2.3 million plus members to help them achieve their best possible retirement outcome.

The Fund is experiencing significant growth and is expanding its investment capabilities in London and New York.

Working with a wide range of stakeholders, we create meaningful value for members and our communities through our diverse workforce of highly competent and highly motivated employees.

  • High performing & dynamic Investments team
  • Flexible and inclusive work environment
  • Exciting growth plans, both locally and internationally

Your new team and environment;

As the first Team Coordinator in our London Office, you will work specifically with the International Investments Team, working across three growing teams, responsible for helping facilitate and support their daily administrative needs.

Reporting to our Commercial and Corporate Legal Manager in London, you will work closely with three Senior Investment Directors and their teams coordinating schedules, arranging travel, and assisting on specific on-going projects.

To support the ongoing growth of the Fund, we established a permanent team in London in 2016. This enables the Fund to expand its global investment portfolio and build our international profile by having a permanent presence in Europe and hiring local specialists who will deepen our international relationships and support implementing local best practice based on local experience.

In a small scale office environment, you will be exposed to professionals across all of our Investment Asset classes, as well as other functions required to support them, giving you the chance to build broad relationships, gain a deeper understanding of how each of these areas operate and get involved in activities outside of your immediate role or team.

Our office is based at 2 Pancras Square in the Kings Cross which is part of the Kings Cross redevelopment project which is one of the core assets of our investment portfolio.

You will join a group of dedicated and talented individuals in an environment underpinned by trust and respect. You will feel enabled to have both an interesting career and a fulfilling life because at AustralianSuper every role is flexible.

Your new role

As part of AustralianSuper's international growth plans, we are seeking an experienced Team Coordinator/Assistant to join the team in London.

What makes this role unique is that you are an integral part of supporting the unlisted investment teams, working across Property, Direct Private Credit, and Infrastructure departments.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will be:

  • Provide general administrative support to the International Investments Teams (including diary/email management and expense/invoice processing).
  • Responsible for making meeting arrangements, assisting with projects/tasks, and liaising with other teams within the fund.
  • Arranging all travel criteria for team members going to conferences and events
  • Support logistics of the team, such as invitations, agendas, minutes, and papers.
  • Build up working relationships, both internal and external, enabling a cohesive work environment, where the sharing of information/knowledge is maximized.
  • Ad hoc back-up reception support (as required).

You'll need:

You will need to be a dynamic individual, who enjoys engaging with a range of stakeholders daily and thrive on being hands on with the work that you do.

  • Previous experience in a financial/investment/legal services type space is essential
  • Experience working within a large or growing team is preferable
  • Relevant degree or qualification
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products
  • Proactive and forward-planning mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High-level organization skillset for coordinating teams, tasks, and planning.

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

What you will get in return:

Joining our team in London presents you with a unique opportunity to be a part of establishing the London operations. You will be responsible for helping to identify new opportunities for the Fund, while developing and embedding best practices that will enable continued growth and the success of the Fund outside of Australia. You will be relied upon to share your knowledge and experience that will enable us to continue to successfully grow the Fund and provide the best possible retirement outcomes for our members.
