Technical Manager (Software Engineering Development Manager Trading Front Office Equities Fixed Income Commodities FX Java Python C++ C# SQL Buy Side Asset Manager Investment Management Risk Performance Attribution Derivatives PORT POINT BISAM Aladdin) required by our asset management client in London.

You MUST have the following:

• Experience as a Technical/Development/Engineering Manager
• Good familiarity within a financial trading Front Office in either equities, Fixed Income, commodities or FX
• Strong experience in man-management, budgeting, reporting to management and facing off to the business
• A background in software engineering or data (Java, Python, C++, C#)
• Excellent SQL

The following is DESIRABLE, not essential:

• Python
• Buy-side asset management
• Knowledge of Fixed Income risk, performance, attribution (PORT, POINT, BISAM, Aladdin)
• Fixed Income derivatives

Role: Technical Manager (Software Engineering Development Manager Trading Front Office Equities Fixed Income Commodities FX Java Python C++ C# SQL Buy Side Asset Manager Investment Management Risk Performance Attribution Derivatives PORT POINT BISAM Aladdin) required by our asset management client in London. You will inherit a team of 9 spread over London and New York that are responsible for the ingestion and distribution of data for the Fixed Income technology department. The data sources are internal and external and need to be continuously updated and optimised whilst being used in an ever growing number of functions and forms of analytics. As the team manager, you will collaborate with the c. 10 other managers within Fixed Income technology, together with other data-centric team managers within investment technology and external providers. You will contribute to the roadmap for the use of data within Fixed Income and adapt the team accordingly.

The team is high performing and set to grow as more external feeds are added to the inflow and as Fixed Income technology grows. Your role will be hands-off and managerial. You will be responsible for the budget, man-management and road-map of the team whilst reporting to senior management. That said, a level of technical proficiency will be required and will be assessed at interview. This must consist of SQL and some Python. As part of the role, you will contribute to architectural and design reviews and will be expected to also conduct code reviews if required.

Fixed Income experience is desirable but not essential. Front Office technology experience is essential. For those without Fixed Income, a strong ability to learn the business will be necessary.

Flexible working in terms of hours and working from home is permitted for this position. Hours are normally 9-5. Travel to the US, when restrictions are lifted, will be once every 3-6 months.

Salary: £110k - £140k + 25% Bonus + 10% Pension
