This is an exciting role based at the magnificent London County Hall Theatre, Southbank. With our site-specific, Olivier Award nominated landmark production of Agatha Christies sensational courtroom drama Witness for the Prosecution recently celebrating its fourth anniversary, there couldnt be a better time to join the team.

Job Description: Theatre & Operations Manager
Salary: 32,500 - 35,000 per annum (subject to experience)
Initial Contract Length: Fixed Term 6 months with a view to extend.
Working hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week Tuesday-Sunday
Responsible to: Producers & General Manager
Responsible for: Bar & Merchandise Manager, Front of House Supervisor\/Assistants
Responsibilities:
Operational
To be the first point of contact for enquiries from the public.
To lead and manage the Front of House and bar staff to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.
To lead with recruitment for the Front of House team, and to deliver and manage staff induction, scheduling, training and performance management.
To ensure the timely input, recording and reporting of theatre staff time sheets, payroll and holiday.
To ensure all fire safety, security and counter terrorism, building checks, risk assessments, health and safety, and first aid procedures are in place at all times and recorded.
To act as a first aider, and to undertake any other safety training as deemed appropriate (any training required at Companys expense)
To ensure the timely and thorough reporting and investigation of accidents and incidents.
To be the principal duty manager for no less than 6 performances per week, including evenings and weekends, as required.
To review and manage the relationship with outside suppliers and contractors.
To ensure that all licensing, food hygiene statutory and Company policies are upheld and implemented at all times.
To attend meetings with the General Manager and Producers as required to report on customer feedback, financing, budget and strategy for the commercial activities.
Write and distribute a post-performance report to the Producers.
Liaise with contractors regarding day-to-day cleaning, waste disposal, security, maintenance etc.
Manage relationships with London County Hall venue staff, reporting maintenance and damage where necessary.
Within the policies determined by the General Manager contribute to the overall vision, strategy, communications and values of Witness London Ltd and to ensure they are understood, shared and implemented by all Front of House staff.
To undertake other duties that are reasonably required.
Strategic:
To lead the development of the Front of House, Bar and Merchandise operations.
To work with the General Manager to continually review and improve the quality and profitability of the commercial activities.
To take responsibility for the financial management of the commercial activities, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with company requirements for weekly reporting and month-end procedures.
Person Specification:
At least 3 years experience in arts management, hospitality and\/or events management.
Excellent leadership and management skills.
Strong and effective interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer care skills
Ability to use own initiative
Attention to detail
Knowledge of Health and Safety, First Aid, and Risk Assessments
Knowledge of employment obligations, procedures and good practice.
Knowledge of licencing obligations and venue management good practice.
Computer literate. A knowledge of Windows based software
An interest in the Arts
Flexible Able to work outside normal office hours including evenings and weekends
