Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.

About the Service

Waltham Forest Therapeutic Marketplace is the first point of contact for survivors seeking to access therapeutic support. It also provides a range of women only group sessions.

This service is part of the wider Solace Advocacy Support Service (SASS) which is made up of professional staff offering short to medium term support to women and men affected by domestic and sexual violence in the community. The service offers information, advocacy and specialist services to increase safety and meet a range of needs - these can include ongoing safety concerns, emotional or housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits and financial advice.

About the Role

You will be the first point of contact for survivors seeking to access therapeutic support and group work. You will be undertaking assessments and offering appropriate onwards referrals to counselling and other therapeutic interventions. You will be organising and delivering group sessions.

About You

You will need to have thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support. You will need a passion for working with victim/survivors of domestic abuse.

You will have the skills and ability to manage a busy service which involves processing referrals, carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning. You will have knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits. You will have excellent administrative, IT and time management skills.
