Our business is constantly evolving - as is our dynamic Engineering team. We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Coachmaker to join our team at West Ham Bus Garage. We offer an exciting development plan which will offer you the tools (pun intended!) to develop the knowledge required to maintain the high standards of our vehicle fleet. Duties & Responsibilities:

* Act as a subject specialist in the area of body repair, an in-depth internal framework of development will ensure you have the knowledge to do this

* Development of repair knowledge relating to framework, panels, ramps, windows, chassis, upholstery, doors, flooring, wielding and painting

* Preparation of vehicle bodywork re-spraying/priming and painting of new body panels, in addition to fitting assault screens within the Buses

* Awareness of routine inspections and maintenance of company vehicles in line with established company policy, DVSA and TfL requirements

* General development and adherence to best working practices e.g. Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Risk Assessments and COSH per the business Health, Safety, Quality and Environment policy

Skills & Experience:

* A commitment to developing within the field, with long-term aims in Engineering

* An awareness of health, safety, quality and environment best working practice

* Experience in the understanding of basic bodywork and vehicle maintenance, ideally working in a hands-on remit in a mechanical environment
