Based in Docklands Canary Wharf (but with a hybrid working model - 2 days in office)

Banking & Financial Services

  • Independent oversight of the firm's trading portfolios. You will have senior role within the Equities Product Control Valuations team
  • Key areas of focus will be enhancement of valuation control methodologies and collaboration with colleagues from across the bank on new and evolving business initiatives. This is a high profile role for you to take on with excellent exposure to the business and other functions
  • Directing a team within PC-Valuations with a focus on methodology review and process improvement to ensure flawless execution of IPV, Fair Value Adjustment and Prudent Valuation
  • Leveraging expert knowledge of financial markets, products, and technical background to evaluate the Independent Price Verification results and resolve valuation issues
  • Working closely with Front Office, Quantitative Analytics, Market Risk, Model Control, PC-Line on valuation related matters
  • Proactively communicate and escalate valuation or business related observations and concerns on an ongoing basis to PC-Valuations management
  • Continually drive improvements of valuation control, methodologies and governance
  • Reviewing new products and significant trades, ensure the right valuation controls are available to support business expansion
  • Initiating and driving change projects for audit and regulatory requirement, efficiency enhancement, and operational risk mitigation
The Successful Applicant
Valuations - IPV Control Group - VP

Banking & Financial Services
  • Significant industry and practical experience in valuation control preferably in Equity derivatives and with good knowledge of exotic products
  • Highly numerate ideally with a 2:1 degree or equivalent in quantitative or scientific discipline, CFA, FRM a plus
  • Proactive and hardworking, exhibit attention to detail, with ability to develop methodologies, improve processes and adhere to governance policies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and discuss complex issues with colleagues of all levels across Trading, Finance, Market Risk and other areas
  • Be an exceptional team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and documentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving experience. Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing business events
  • You will possess excellent computer skills with MS Office, VBA and Python
