Job description

*Overview*
The Commercial Lead, Europe is a client-facing role and will be responsible for ensuring European Sales Teams are deployed in readiness for the promotion of our client's products across Europe. Working closely with our clients your commercial leadership and experience of launching new products in Europe including understanding market access strategy, creating and leading sales teams including sizing and structure analysis and implementing sales plans to meet agreed client KPI's will be key factors in driving our client's business needs across the region. The role will also drive opportunities to connect across the whole of the Commercial business, including Commercial Integration, Consulting and Syneos One. The role will also be a key part of the European Deployment Solutions leadership team and work collaboratively within the global operating model.
*Responsibilities*

• Commercial Leadership of multiple European wide field and hybrid sales teams including their set up and deployment
• Working closely with the client on their market access strategy and agreement of the implementation of face to face and remote promotional activity by country
• Partnering with SYNH Business Operations Directors and First Line Managers across each country to ensure local sales, marketing and activity plans are implemented
• Collaborate on the development of performance goals and objectives at all levels for the field teams and appropriate measures to ensure achievement and set up tools to track and monitor performance versus objectives
• Responsibility for all aspects of the contracted services procured by the client, ensuring information flow and all other deliverables are completed on time. (ie CRM, field team onboarding, regional training program) and within the budget set
• Work closely with the client and internal analytics and reporting team to design reports and tools to monitor attainment of goals established in the client agreement
• Ensure the overall productive collaboration and service provision to ensure back-office support services meets the client's needs, such as compliance; human resources; recruiting; training and development; analytics, reporting and fleet as it relates to each project
• Close collaboration with the Operations team to ensure best in class operational activity that can design, recruit, train, deploy, manage and monitor promotional and field-based medical solutions
• Represent SYNH at the client meetings and provide robust updates including all qualitative and quantitative data as part of the agreed contract
• Active participant of the SYNH and Client Governance Meetings
• Lead regular meetings with the SYNH Business Operations Directors / First Line Managers to discuss project progress, contingencies, training needs and field operational needs

*Job Requirements*

• Bachelor's degree with experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in a sales, marketing and commercial operations capacity
• Experience in sales and marketing roles with responsibility for prescription pharmaceutical business
• Experience in line-management roles within biotech, pharma or medical device or diagnostics
• Experience in a service side role within biopharma consultancy or agency services would be preferable
• Experience in an international (marketing, sales or general management) role including coverage of UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy
• Commercial Leadership experience running a European wide field and hybrid sales team including set up and deployment
• Understanding of market access rules, face to face and remote promotional activity by country
• Experience of commercialisation across multiple countries in Europe
• Able to think strategically and tactically both short and long term relative to customer and industry
• Proven P&L management
• Ability for significant travel, including regular overnight trips
• Europe specific industry knowledge of Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Med Device
• Strong commercial credibility - good track record in industry and strong credibility in sales, marketing, operations
• Proven ability to hit/exceed a predefined target provided by the company
• A second European language is preferable
