Salary / Rate on Offer (depending on experience):
£80,000 to £100,000 + Benefits (PAYE) - OR - £300 to £450 per day (self-employed)
About the Opportunities:
We have been asked to find specialist concrete frame and groundwork Project Managers capable of delivering packages ranging in value from £5 million up to £30 million each (anywhere in between). The initial sites are all listed above.
Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, basement construction and concrete frame construction, while working on a mixture of residential and mixed-use schemes for the specialist subcontractor (I can not consider people from a main contractor or developer background).
Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works and client meetings).
About the Employers:
Ranging in size and capability, each of the businesses looking to recruit these roles are specialist concrete frame & groundwork subcontractors. Individual company turnovers range from around £50m per annum to £200m per annum. I am happy to discuss specific company names and details with interested parties.
All I would add, is I only work with the companies who are the best in this field. If a company has a high turnover of staff or has a negative reputation for any number of reasons, they aren't where I focus my time. So, you can be assured, these options are to work for some of the top 20 specialist concrete frame & groundwork subcontractors in the UK.
About the Requirements:
Suitable construction professionals will ideally be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and will be able to show a strong history from a site engineer level through to management over the last 5-10+ years.
It is crucial that applicants can show a strong amount of concrete frame and groundwork construction background having worked for rival concrete frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK. Individuals from a main contract, consultancy or overseas background cannot be considered unfortunately.
Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning / programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all these tools.
About the Salary / Rewards:
For the right people our clients are looking to offer market leading packages including strong salaries or rates with added benefits. If PAYE you can expect a basic salary ranging from £80,000 to £100,000 depending on your experience, plus a car allowance, full benefits and a targeted project related bonus. If self-employed, day rates range from £300 to £450 per day and you will also be given project related bonuses.
These companies really do pay their people well to make sure they are happy and look to stay long term and in addition to that, clear criteria are provided on how to hit the bonuses so that people are incentivised to perform well and earn the rewards in return.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss these opportunities with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the roles in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the options.

About Me, Your Consultant:
My name is Andrew Jackson and I am one of the founding directors of Cityscape Recruitment Ltd. I have over 15 years of experience in civil engineering & construction recruitment, during which time, I have specialised in the niche sectors of concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction and demolition.
So, what does that mean for you? It means, I work with the vast majority of the groundwork & concrete frame businesses in the UK and I can help not only introduce you, but I can give you up to date information on each of them (the good parts and the less positive parts), helping you make an informed decision so you can take your career forward. I've been doing this for a fair while now and I've maintained a positive reputation doing what I do because I don't tell people false truths, I tell them everything I know and then let them choose. My job is to get you the options, give you the information and then let you decide what feels right for you
