Lead SEN Teacher - 2 days Class Teaching & Responsibilities for SEN Provision

A fantastic Camden Primary School with a SEN Provision are looking for a Lead Teacher to join them in early 2022. As one of the first of their kind, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experience SEN Teacher to take on more responsibility and join a thriving Primary School!

This role will be initially a Maternity Cover from February 2022 for 1 year but there is flexibility for starting early to hand over and continuing beyond the 1 year!

As part of your role as Lead SEN Teacher for the SEN Provision, you will be teaching in class for 2 of your 5-day week. This will involve working with Primary aged children of varying needs but mostly Autism.

The remainder of the week will be focused on leading a team of SEN Teachers and Teaching Assistants, supporting the parents, and monitoring planning and progress of the children.

Role Details:

  • Lead SEN Teacher for SEN Provision
  • Working with children in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 with ASD
  • Teaching in class 2 days per week
  • Promoting good relationships with parents and carers
  • Leading the SEN Provision and managing a team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants
  • Liaising with the Main School and their SLT
  • February Half Term 2022 Start - ability to start earlier for handover
  • 1yr Maternity Contact initially, but flexibility to be extended beyond that
  • MPS5 or above, Inner London with SEN and Leadership allowance!

Candidate Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Primary Teacher
  • Must have experience teaching SEN Classes
  • 5+yrs Teaching Experience
  • Some experience in leadership roles is ideal
  • Strong knowledge of SEN, particularly ASD
