Job description

Summary

We will be promoting our research strategy from mid-November. This is our framework for our investments and activity from 2022 to 2026. The Research Impact Manager will play a key role in developing the evaluation framework, data pipeline and stakeholder communication around the strategy. We are looking for someone with drive, experience and passion for research impact - and who can lead in embedding this new programme of work.

About the role

Research is one of the central pillars of charitable activity at Versus Arthritis along with providing support & services and demanding more for people with arthritis through campaigning activity. Information about our funded research and how it improves the lives of people with arthritis is used widely throughout our organisation and evidence from research underpins our fundraising, campaigning, patient information, media, and marketing activities. The Research Impact Manager is a pivotal role that helps to evaluate, quantify and communicate our research impact both internally and externally. This role sits within the Recognition, Brand and Activation directorate but in reality works collaboratively with teams right across the organisation, as well as external organisations focussed on research impact. As such, this is both a varied and challenging role requiring someone both literate and numerate with amazing communication skills.

Key requirements

  • Evaluation and impact measurement skills, with evidence of experience and success in this area.
  • Experience and skills using statistical analysis methods and tools including Excel.
  • Experience of communicating complex information and data to non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience of leading and managing projects from scoping to delivery.

How to apply

To apply you MUST submit:

  • a concise, up-to-date CV
  • along with a completed supporting statement demonstrating how you meet the key requirements set out in the job description and person specification for the Research Impact Manager
  • please include where you've seen this role advertised.

Email your completed application by Monday 6 December 2021.

We advise candidates to apply early as we reserve the right to close applications ahead of this date. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

About us

There are 18.8 million people living with a musculoskeletal (MSK) condition like arthritis in the UK. Arthritis causes pain, fatigue and isolation for more than 10 million of those people every single day. It can impact on the ability to work, our relationships and take away our independence. We don't accept this.

Versus Arthritis exists to push back against arthritis stealing people's lives. We challenge the most common misconceptions about arthritis: that it is inevitable, only affects older people, or that it's 'just a bit of arthritis'. People with arthritis have a fundamental right to live independent and rich lives, whatever their age and their circumstances. We won't stop researching, campaigning and supporting them until we've achieved this for everyone.

Join us and use your skills, knowledge, passion and energy to help us defy arthritis.
