Job description

My client is a leading HGV training supplier providing training across the whole of the UK for private individuals and corporate clients.

Given the recent and well documented HGV driver shortage they have become extremely busy with new enquiries for people wishing to train as HGV Drivers.

As a result, they are now looking to recruit a supply chain manager to deal with and maximise relationships with their training supply chain.

These suppliers are medical providers, theory test providers and most importantly HGV training schools.

This role with sit in the senior management team of the business working closely with finance, marketing, operations, and corporate sales and have sole responsibility for all the main suppliers within the business.

AsSupply Chain Manageryou will be looking after:

SLA with all suppliers

Developing relationships with some suppliers where the relationship is not as strong as it could be

Managing availability of suppliers

Negotiating prices with suppliers

Performcost scenario analysisand benchmarking

Work closely with Business Managers to check suppliers are delivering

Monitor andforecast demandto determine quality and timing of deliveries

Increaseoperational effectiveness

Assess, manage, and mitigaterisk

Yourskillsandexperiencewill include:

Purchasing andSupply Chain

Experience working within afast-paced environmentand managing many suppliers

Familiarity with sourcing andvendor management

Strongleadershipqualities

Negotiationand decision making

Analyticalapproach

Experience within transport and logistics will be beneficial but not essential to be considered for this opportunity.

The role will involve travel to suppliers based around the UK and will be remote based for the foreseeable future with sometime in the office when needed based near to Camden.

You should be flexible to therefore travel across the UK, work remotely and come to the office in Camden when needed.
