Job description

Axcis are currently working with a vibrant and dynamic secondary school based in Islington who are looking for a SEND teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a KS3 male with ADHD and challenging behaviour.

The ideal candidate will be energetic and have a sporty background as working outdoors is a requirement for this role. The successful candidate will be providing both academic and pastoral support for the pupil. As such, you will need to be resilient, calm, and able to demonstrate an ability to deal with challenging and sometimes confrontational situations. The pupil is in need of someone who is adept at building strong relationships, and is able to be a positive role model and mentor.

Teaching assistants with Team Teach training or other de escalation training are highly desirable.

Pay - £80 - £100 per day

The role:
• 1:1 Teaching Assistant working with a KS3 student with ADHD and challenging behaviour
• Proving academic and pastoral support
• Full time, (Mon-Fri)

The ideal candidate:
• Experience dealing with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Ideally Team Teach trained (other de-escalation will be considered)
• Ability to build a strong, respectful rapport with young people
• Resilient and able to remain calm under stressful situations
