Job description

A fantastic opportunity working within The Technical Services department of a well-known large Retail client based in Croydon. Reporting into the Service Delivery Manager you will be working together as a team responsible for the delivery of a safe and maintained flagship, ensuring the building, equipment, machinery and aesthetics are fully maintained and operational through the use of planned, reactive and cost effective engineering and maintenance.

The department ensures all records and reports are kept up-to-date and analysed to identify opportunities for service improvements, enhancing the brand and overall profitability by achieving performance targets and other business plan objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering and Maintenance

* Coordinate the retail delivery process for all incoming tenants, following the on-site processes and procedures set

* Provide support to the Service Delivery Manager and deputise for them as directed in all matters relating to technical services.

* Coordinate the preparation and updating of maintenance records including operating and maintenance manuals and record drawings via the electronic document storage system.

* Identify and issue appropriate permissions and permits for contractors undertaking work, ensuring all activities comply with relevant legislation e.g. Fire Regularity Reform Act, Health & Safety at Work Act etc.

* Assist with regular inspections of the building, services and equipment are undertaken to determine the safety, optimum frequency for planned and periodic maintenance with indication of faults and provision of costs for budgetary purposes.

* Manage contractors and other parties to ensure ongoing compliance with the permits and permissions to work.

* Ensure close liaison with the Operations, Tenant Liaison, Marketing and Commercialisation teams to understand operational involvement and requirements for events and activities.

* Assist in the coordination of the maintenance and repair of the building and services, fabric, plant machinery, equipment and peripheral areas of the scheme.

* Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, retailers and contractors.

* Assist with the health and safety management system, complying with all policies and procedures.

* Support tenants ensuring appropriate compliance to their leases and relevant license's on technical matters.

Person Specification

Minimum:

* H&S qualification IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent

* Ability to use own initiative and innovate

* Excellent communicator at all levels

* Proven operational experience in technical services and maintenance

* Experience in liaising with contractors

Desirable:

* ONC / HNC Engineering Qualification or equivalent

* H&S qualification NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent

* Good knowledge of corporate responsibility and environmental issues

* Achievement of other professional qualifications / awards relevant to the role

* Relevant industry knowledge

* Shop fitting experience
