I am currently working closely with a popular SEND school in West London and they are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Mentor to join them in January 2022. The successful Youth Mentor will work full-time during term-time only and you will be supporting children and young people with SEND, particularly with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism/ASC.
The school provides therapeutic and creative education to children and young people with SEMH and Autism/ASC, and they have committed staff members who are passionate about enhancing the lives of their students through learning. There is a strong emphasis on the importance of communication skills and in leading the young people they work with towards independence.

* Assisting the teacher and supporting pupils with their learning
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) and Autism/ASC
* Small classroom size (up to 8 pupils per class)
* Monday to Friday; long-term contract with a possibility to become permanent

The successful Youth Mentor will be kind and nurturing with a dedication to their responsibility as a Youth Mentor. You will engage the children in your care with creative tasks that will aid their learning and development, particularly with core subjects such as English, Maths and Science. An enthusiastic and patient approach is essential! Learning Mentors, Youth Workers, and University Graduates are encouraged to apply for this Youth Mentor position.
