What you will be doing
We are currently Recruiting Multiple Tideway Technicians. This role will be Frontline operation and maintenance of above and below ground activities on our network and pumping stations. This role will be to Support the project activity, to include 3rd party stakeholders, TW capital delivery, and Tideway.
You will be responsible for carrying out diversions and isolations across our network and PS. Implement & follow a safe system of works in compliance with the IAB processes.
This role will involve work on the trunk sewer network and other man entry-sized sewers, strategic pumping stations, and off-site storm tanks. Flexibility to meet the work demands across the catchment and operational activity. Supporting G permit activity.

Main Accountabilities
- Take on Ganger & CP2IC duties as required
- Taking charge of a team of trunk sewer technicians to complete maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and fault-finding tasks.
- Managing confined space entries to ensure work is completed safely and in line with best practice.
- Being responsible for the productivity of the contractor or team during the shift.
- Completing investigations in the field to gather information and fault find. Writing reports on the findings.
- Taking responsibility for the health and safety of self, colleagues, and members of the public.
- Frontline operation and maintenance of pumping stations
- Monitoring, collating and reporting data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
- Having a solid understanding of the network including diversion points, danger points, pumping stations, and the impact of operating flow control assets on the network
- Personal ownership of customer issues - responding to queries & complaints, resolving issues
- Carrying out isolations on pumping stations and supporting G permit activity
- Carry out front line maintenance on operational sites
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards during activity, and support in the supervision of subcontractors to make sure they are complying with company policies and procedures.
- Be IOSH trained, CP2 trained & medically fit including compliance with a personal weight limit.
- Have excellent organisational, communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills, to clearly interact with our customers and stakeholders
- Be able to manage high-pressure situations including confined space rescue.
- Have good knowledge of the network & pumping stations in the designated working areas.
- Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical knowledge, plus completion of NVQ level 2 units or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a relevant industrial processing/engineering environment.
- Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and office software.
- Understanding of key Company operating procedures relevant to a specific role.
- Must have a full driving license
