Job description

DevOps Engineer (CloudFormation, AWS, Docker)
Remote or London (must be UK Based)
Software Company
£60,000 (DOE) | Fully Remote Working | Flexible Hours | Personal Training Budget

Simply put, this business protects lone workers. Operating across six continents, their product enables lone workers to be safely looked after during periods of work.

The HQ is centred in London however the team operate remotely, often collaborating through Slack and video conferencing, demos and retrospectives. After large phases of growth, the business is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help manage this growth and keep everything running smoothly.

Expect to be central to every application, tool, and service we use to build a great experience. The business has a small tech team that packs a punch, with you reporting into the Head of DevOps.

The role is ideal for an Engineer excited about ensuring high levels of availability for safety systems. You'll be a good fit if you have experience with CloudFormation, Ansible or Packer, and are eager to work in a flexible/remote business with good progression opportunities.

Tech

- Solid knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of Linux and a variety of databases
- Demonstrable experience with AWS Services (EC2, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway etc)
- Demonstrable experience with MySQL (Aurora), Redis (ElastiCache), DynamoDB
- Experience with Docker, Ansible, Packer, Git, Bitbucket
- A thirst for knowledge and love of learning - you enjoy playing with new technologies

Responsibilities

- Build, deploy and secure highly available, fault tolerant and scalable systems
- Apply an IAC approach
- Implement automation tools/frameworks (CI/CD pipelines)
- Ensure high availability and prioritise security
- Improve practices around deployment
- Maintain design, process and troubleshooting documentation
