Job description
Head of Sales Job Spec
About us
Log my Care is one of the fastest-growing Care Software start-ups in the UK, having quadrupled its customer base since the pandemic began. Our mission is to digitise the social care sector (care homes and home care agencies) and help hundreds of thousands of carers to provide a better quality of care to the UK's most vulnerable people. The sector is over 60% analogue and paper-based, losing out on the many benefits technology can bring and we're passionate about changing that with our intuitive mobile App and Web-based tools that make delivering care far, far easier for hard-working carers.
We've come this far without a formal sales team but now we're looking to build the department from scratch by bringing the right person onboard to accelerate our growth.
You and the role
Ideally, you're someone who is goal-orientated and loves optimising processes, geeking out on evolving the sales playbook, and diving into the numbers. You're a strategic thinker who likes to keep a birds-eye view of your team and motivate them towards winning together. Collaborating with cross-functional teams in marketing, customer success and product excites you, as well as the chance to put your stamp on the company.
Day-to-day, you will oversee the activities and performance of your sales team by tracking sales goals, setting individual targets, and facilitating the ongoing training of your salespeople. The social care industry is extremely fragmented and full of challenges so we're looking for someone with experience in delivering SME sales in a B2B or SaaS environment.
As a start-up, we are at a really exciting stage in our growth - we're looking for someone who wants to take the lead with sales. Whether you're a Senior Sales Manager who's ready for step-up or a seasoned Head of Department, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll be up to
- Implement a repeatable and scalable sales process that drives revenue growth with SME customers
- Develop sales strategy and action plan from scratch to meet the company's targets
- Roll out the use of our new CRM in collaboration with marketing
- Hire, develop and motivate your sales team
- Gain a deep understanding of our ideal customers and how they use our products
- Work with marketing to define and implement lead nurturing
- Call, email, or meet prospective clients and close larger sales yourself
- Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team
- Track sales goals and report results to the CEO
- Collaborate with the product and customer success teams to ensure successful deployments
The kind of person you are
- Extensive experience building the sales function in a technology environment
- Understanding of how to structure and motivate a sales team
- A proven track record successfully selling B2B SaaS
- Familiarity working cross-functionally with product, marketing, and customer success teams
- Demonstrated passion for start-ups and new technology businesses
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and build great relationships with customers
- Extraordinary drive and attention to detail
- First-class communication skills
- High integrity and ability to build trust quickly
