£60,000 - £70,000 + benefits

The Role
As the Test and Release Manager you will work on complex business projects associated with the CIPD's transformation and growth agenda. You'll be working together with internal and external developers, to ensure full testing and effective release of software, integration components and sub systems. You'll be key in implementing a strategy underpinned by Automation and NFR testing to improve business practices of new software rollout and integration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and building an automation solution to support our Product & Development roadmaps.
- Working with product, project, development, and operations teams to design and implement best practice testing practices, plans, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analysing and troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems and environments.
- Automating processes and solutions to meet business requirements as needed.
- Being responsible for non-functional testing activities, including performance testing, Agile testing, continuous integration testing, user experience testing and accessibility testing.
- Analysing the data gathered (level of quality, time taken, efforts spent, tools & frameworks, level of automation) against quality best practices required for digital world.
- Executing automation suites, regression, and sanity test cases on daily and weekly basis.
- Enhancing the existing automation suite, regression and sanity packs with increased coverage, stability checks and enhanced functionality coverage.
- Maintaining collaborative working relationships with other specialist digital and technology colleagues to develop a shared understanding of systems, applications, platforms, infrastructure, data and integration.
- Ensuring adequate testing requirements are in place during the design and implementation of new digital and technology systems, applications and platforms. Including system integration planning and testing.
- Developing digital and technology use cases (user stories) and collaborating with product managers, business product owners, partners, and suppliers/vendors.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
- Extensive experience in automation, release management, and NFR testing with proven experience of delivering and implementing testing strategies.
- Working knowledge of JIRA.
- Strong working knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Demonstrative experience of change and release management.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices relating to automation, continuous improvements, CI/CD pipelines, analytics, and insights generation.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices relating to QA/Test Management activities / productivity analytics and insights generation.
- Solid understanding of change management principles
- Solid experience of automation and load on SaaS based application platforms.
- High commitment to quality & QC processes. Advocating the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how they may be applied at the CIPD to drive digital business.
- Passionate about technology and software quality.
