Job description

We specialise in the multi-utility development of custom-built District Heating systems
throughout the UK. After securing several high-profile projects we are looking to add an
experienced maintenance engineer to the growing team.

authorities, businesses and property developers working to reduced cost and create value
while ensuring a well-designed yet low risk systems.

The Role - Plant Maintenance Engineer

The Plant Maintenance Engineer will be working for the Operations Manager, executing the maintenance, servicing and breakdown repair of commercial plant across our fleet of District Heating Schemes.

Responsibilities

• Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities in line with company
maintenance schedules (pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units)
• Attend reactive call outs to sites to reinstate heat and resolve plant failures (pump,
pressurisation units, degassers, boiler operation, etc.)
• Review root causes for plant failure (resolve operational issues which arise)
• Service and repair of commercial plant (as per above)
• Management of site-based project work and development of scope of works for plant
remediation.
• Completion of pipework repairs if and where required (crimp, plastic welding, soldering, etc).
• Safe isolation of equipment prior to commencing works

• Ensure maintenance system records are kept up to date to ensure accurate and secure records. This will involve completion of clear and concise online work orders.

• Take part in an on-call rota and attend callouts (usually 1 week in 3/4)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years Practical Work Experience (Mechanical/Electrical) in District Heating
Schemes and Plant Room Operations
• NVQ Level 2/3 Diploma Mechanical Engineering Services or in a relevant discipline
• F-Gas Certification (Preferred but not essential)
• Experience liaising with sub-contractors, clients and other working parties.
• Competence in IT software (Microsoft Excel, Word etc).
• Excellent problem-solving skills & self-starter
