Science Technician required for outstanding secondary school in South West London

An outstanding secondary school and sixth form in South London is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and hard-working science technician to join their Science Department on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position, term time only, with an immediate start.

The science department is very highly regarded for its outstanding teaching and engaging curriculum and has a team of dedicated science teachers with a passion for science. The school offers science up to A Level and well as BTEC Science and Applied Biology with lessons taught in state of the art laboratories and facilities.

In this Science Technician role, you will be joining a successful and supportive Science Department. You will be working closely with the Head of Department, other teaching staff and the Senior Technician to ensure a seamless running of the science laboratories, providing outstanding technical support to teaching staff and students across KS3 to KS5.

Duties will include:

• Setting up practical tasks across Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Key Stage 3 up to A level and BTEC Science
• Providing in-class support to teachers and students and running practical demonstrations
• Maintaining all laboratory and equipment to the highest standard
• Stocktaking of supplies, managing stock levels placing orders
• Ensuring COSHH and Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times.

A degree in science is essential for this role. Previous school experience will be highly regarded, however recent science graduates are encouraged to apply.
