Interesting Associate Head of Procurement job working within a leading NHS Trust
Your new company
This NHS Trust is one of the national procurement hubs serving the health community in London and surrounding areas. Their members extend across the acute, community and mental health sectors, as well as primary care and clinical commissioning.
Your new role
This is a high profile, strategic and influential role where you will lead and develop the day-to-day operation of a best in class procurement share services team. You will play a pivotal part in inputting the NHS Trusts category management methodology to develop ambitious category strategies whilst managing relationships with strategic suppliers. You will maintain and develop these relationships to maximise their operational performance whilst minimising risk and reducing costs to improve the overall financial and operational performance of the trust.
You will support the customer team in their liaison with Heads of Procurement to provide professional advice and guidance, in advance of expert technical support from the workstreams. You will also lead on shaping supply markets, as well as managing suppliers in the market whilst instigating collaborative working with strategic suppliers to deliver mutual benefits and accelerate innovation. You will also have an active role to play with the Trusts Steering Board and in particular to report on the performance of suppliers from both a contract management and a supplier relationship management (SRM) perspective. The role will be expected to lead on building a best of breed database for the compilation of both contract management and SRM data to track and manage supplier performance against key metrics and targets and also to be able to compare performance between suppliers.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the role you will be able to lead the Procurement Shared Services Team (comprising Supplier Relationship Management; Contract Management; and Procurement Officers) that will deliver best value for money across the Trusts spend that is in excess of \u00A33.5bn. You will also need the following:
* Have significant experience of procurement, contract management and Supplier Relationship Management
* A Detailed knowledge of OJEU compliance process
* Strong leadership skills whilst being respected by key stakeholders and other senior key decision makers of shareholder organisations
* Ability to assess the current standards of procurement, contract management and supplier relationship management across the NHS and wider public sector to determine the best course of action in order to raise standards to best in class with an ambition for world-class in the future
* Establish appropriate systems and processes to ensure effective operational delivery to meet customer needs and create robust performance management reporting arrangements to demonstrate KPIs are met
